Caramel Apples

Caramel Apples

These chocolate dipped caramel apples are extra scrumptious with a coating of peanuts and crispy toffee.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Thought I’d revisit my Caramel Apples, since it’s Halloween and get into the spirit of things. You know, whenever I make these, I feel like autumn has begun for me.

I used Fuji apples because they’re usually very firm and crispy, and they hold up for days if you don’t plan to eat this goodies right away…especially if you’re giving them as gifts. You can also put them in the fridge and they’re good for quite awhile.

If a tart apple is your pleasure, go ahead and use a Granny Smith. You can also use different nuts or candies…or none at all. I used dark chocolate for the outer coating, but if milk chocolate or white chocolate is your preference, you can use that too.

As for the decoration, I slipped a straw over the apple stick and pushed it into the apple a bit.  It fits perfectly.
