Burlap Jam Jar

Burlap Jam Jar

Beautiful rustic touch for fall jam jars using burlap, flowers, and autumn leaves.

It’s December and here I am posting jam jars with a fall theme. Been kind of pokey lately, sorry about that. Since November, I’ve been so busy…yah…excuses, excuses, I know. But seriously, just about every square on my November and December calendar has been filled in. I’m having an unusually hectic holiday season.

Hopefully 2018 will be slow year. I like snail pace. I like pajama days. I like long days of doing nothing. Some of my friends tell me they hate being bored. I am never bored! If I wake up on a day with nothing on my Must List, I am happy to relish in a day of solace and just feeling the moments of  “now.” I love peaceful.

Anyway, getting back to the jar. They are kind of self explanatory, so I didn’t provide a tutorial.  Burlap is cheap. I bought this for $1.99 a yard. Just cut out squares, tie them down with twine and break out the glue gun to attach autumn leaves and paper flowers. Of course, you can use any kind of flowers…yellow, orange, silk, paper, dried…it will all look good.

I gave these out at a day after Thanksgiving party. The jams were boysenberry and peach. It was nice to hear from some guests telling me they had it for breakfast the next morning on their toast, or that they were going to make jam thumb print cookies and use them to fill the centers. Mmmm. Good idea.
